In verses 22 through 25 of Chapter 1, we see a call towards brotherly love and an explanation of why we’re able to love one another as those “born again” or rescued by Christ. In the first three verses of Chapter 2 we understand HOW to love one another. This passage reminds us that our love for others is rooted in God’s love for us.
