  • What is the perspective of the person James is addressing in these verses?
  • What is the error in their understanding?
  • Have you ever viewed your life in a similar was as these people?
  • Do you currently view your life in this way?
  • What are the attitudes James is calling them to in these verses?
  • Is verse 15 saying that we shouldn't make plans or goals for the future?
  • what is it saying?
  • In verse 16, why is all such boasting evil?
  • How should we understand the word evil?
  • Why do we shy away from the word evil?
  • Are you willing to call a spade a spade in your life and identify sinful areas as evil?
  • In verse 17 saying that if a person does not know that something it is sinful that it is not sinful for them? If not, what is it saying?
