Jonah wasn't the best prophet but we can learn a lot about God and ourselves by looking at this story.

1) Why was Jonah displeased?
2) When you think of loving your enemy, what comes to mind for you?
3) What kind of action would be associated with your view of loving your enemy?
4) How does your view of loving your enemy differ from God's view of loving an enemy.
5) What "enemies" do you have in your life that you need to respond in obedience by showing them love?
6) Who are enemies of God? (Read Ephesians 2:1-3; James 4:4; Galatians 5:17)
7) How has God loved you as an enemy?
8) Is it harder for your to love your enemy or to accept that God loves your enemy more than you do?
9) Make sure to notice the two understandings we must have for who are our enemies in this world. First is the relational enemy. Second is those that are enemies in the Biblical sense. What is the difference?
10) In view of all of this, how would you say God defines what it is to love your enemy?
11) Look at Jonah 4:5-10 - what is one of the greatest obstacles we face that keeps us from going to a world that needs to hear and see the Truth of God? (Loving our enemies)
